Magnesium Gadolinium Master Alloy is used to improve the strength and corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys, used as automotive engine and high temperature resistant magnesium alloy additives.

Motorbike et al. studied the performance comparison of simple Mg-Gd binary alloys with WE43, QE22, and other alloys, and found that the creep resistance of Mg-Gd alloy is much higher than other alloys, and with the increase of Gd content, the creep resistance increase.
